Fried Jalapeño Poppers

Ingredients:

  • 1 Calhoun Bend Mill Fried Green Tomato Mix
  • 12 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 8 ounce package cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon bacon bits (optional)
  • 12 ounces jalapeño peppers, halved & seeded
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 quarts frying oil

Directions:

  1. Bring frying oil to 365 degrees in a medium sized skillet
  2. Combine cream cheese, cheddar cheese, and bacon bits into a bowl and mix throughly
  3. Spoon cream cheese mixture into the jalapeño halves and set aside
  4. With two bowls, pour half the Calhoun Bend Mill Fried Green Tomato Mix into each bowl. Pour 1/2 cup water into one of the bowls and mix together Leaving the other bowl dry
  5. Begin dredging the stuffed jalapeño’s into the wet mixture and then dredge into the dry mixture
  6. One at a time, begin frying the poppers in hot oil for 2 to 3 minutes or until poppers are golden brown
  7. Drain poppers on paper towel and allow to cool
  8. Add some warm Mariana sauce for dipping on the side
  9. Enjoy!
